Second Day, and I'm posting too...

I've been working in the world of web design since 1998, when I moved to the US and decided that I'd use my artistic skills to good effect in the web design industry. Little did I know then that web design (and/or web development) required a lot more than the ability to be able to slap together a few colours from the colour wheel in an order that didn't make the eyes hurt.

Still, the first year or so was really spent on the design side of things, and it wasn't 'til a little later that I progressed into coding using Server-side and Client-side technologies. That's when it got really interesting.

And it's been a continuous learning curve ever since. That's one of the things that I really enjoy about this field. It's never dull, and just when you've mastered one technology, or deciphered the latest acronym, you look up, and there are countless others, staring at you, just waiting to be included.

I mean, 'Ajax'? Where I come from it's used as a multi-surface cleaner. At least that's all it was until recently... and now it's 'A New Approach to Web Applications'.

Another curve to learn. Blimey..

The beginnings of a portfolio

This is the beginning of a process that's been on the brain's back burner for far too long.

Procrastination and laziness will be measured in time between postings. But there will be no recrimination for long fallow periods.

There. Started.
